[Book seminar] Book Presentation ‘Fundamentals of Electoral System Reform’ in Novi Sad
On Wednesday, December 11, Faculty of Law and Business Studies „Dr. Lazar Vrkatić” in Novi Sad will host the presentation of Dr. Dejan Bursać’s book, Fundamentals of Electoral System Reform: The Case of Serbia [srb. Osnovi reforme izbornog sistema: slučaj Srbije].
Electoral conditions, as a significant political issue in Serbia, have been present in public discourse for several years – at least since the 2020 elections and their subsequent boycott by most opposition parties. Meanwhile, the need for change or at least a serious reform of the electoral system has been under consideration in academic circles for the past two decades. Previous changes to electoral legislation in Serbia have generally been guided by the logic of short-term political gain from the decision-makers’ perspective. The ambitious aim of this book is thus to provide future reformers and the interested public with a comprehensive overview of the issues related to electoral system reform.
