Gender Lab of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory deals theoretically and empirically with gender issues through the interdisciplinary and applied research. Lab’s special interest lies in improving the position of women in academia. To enable the networking of academic women at the University of Belgrade, Gender Lab established UdruŽene za znanje. The Lab monitors global and local developments related to anti-gender politics and develops active cooperation in the area with university centers, especially in the Southeast European region.
The Gender Research Laboratory of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, independently or in collaboration with other institutions, approaches the study of gender and its conceptual and literal interaction with other socio-political categories in an academic and interdisciplinary way, as well as the study of gender-based violence and anti-gender politics.
Combination of continuous empirical research and theoretical analysis, as well as application of research results in the field of practical policies, professional development of education staff and researchers and international cooperation with various professional networks in the field of humanities and social sciences, differentiates the Gender Lab from the other similar research centers in the country and region.
