Armin Grunvald graduated physics in 1983. godine. He got promoted in 1987. at the University of Cologne with the work in the area of the theory og the physics of solid bodies. His studies of mathematics and philosophy where done in 1991. with his first state exam. In 1998. He got his habilitation and a venia legendi in philosophy at the University of Marburg. From October 1999. He was a director of ITAS in Karlsruhe, a professor of philosophy, from 2002. He was a director of the Bureau for the Assessment of the Consequences of Technology at the German Parliament. His area of interest are: theory of the assessment of the consequences of technology, ethics of technology, concepts of sustainability, nanotechnology and society.
