Alenka Zupančič got her PhD at the University of Ljubljana and at the University Paris VIII. She is a research fellow at the Institute for philosophy at the Slovenian Academy of Science and Arts and a guest lecturer at the European University of Interdisciplinary Studies in Switzerland. She is a member of the of the publishing board of the journal Philosophy and Society and a constant associate of the Center for Advanced Studies for Southeast Europe. She is an author of numerous articles and books on psychoanalysis and philosophy which where translated into many languages. Some of those books are: The Odd One In: on Comedy; Why Psychoanalysis: Three Interventions; The Shortest Shadow: Nietzsche’s Philosophy of the Two i Ethics of the Real: Kant and Lacan. Alenka Zupančič is also a coeditor of the edition Analecta and a main editor of the journal for philosophy and psychoanalysis Problemi.
