Nicholas Onuf taught international relations at Georgetown American University, Washington, DC, for 28 years. He is currently a professor emeritus at Department of Politics and International Relations, Florida International University, Miami, where he taught for ten years. Additionally he is an associate professor in Rio de Janeiro (Instituto de Relações Internationais, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro), part-time professor at University of Southern California, and visiting professor at Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. His books include World of Our Making (1989), The Republican Legacy in International Thought (1998), and International Legal Theory (2008). With his brother, Peter Onuf, he also wrote Federal Union, Modern World (1993), and Nations, Markets, and War (2006).
