Geoffrey Hodgson (1946) is a professor at the Business school of the University of Hertfordshire and is a member of the Academy for Social Science of the United Kingdom. He was awarded the Schumpeter Award by the International Schumpeter Society in 2014. as well as a Veblen-Commons Award by the Association for Evolutionary Economics in 2012. He is an author of more than 15 books among which are: Economics and Institutions, From Pleasure Machines to Moral Communities: An Evolutionary Economics without Homo Economicus, How Economics Forgot History, as well as over 130 papers in academic journals. His field of interest stretch from institutional and evolutionary economics, methodology of economic sciences and the history of economic thought and theory of the compant and social theory.
