Lisa Hercog is a professor of political philosophy and theory at the Technical University of Munich. She studied philosophy, economics, political science and contemporary history at the universities of Munich and Oxford. She is the author of the book “Inventing the Market. Smith, Hegel, and Political Theory” (Oxford University Press, 2013). She deals with the relations between political philosophy and economics with the focus on the history of political and economic ideas as well as with the questions of financial markets and organizational ethics. She also writes for a wider audience and participates in public debates on the questions of the ethics of finance, social justice and inequality.
