Monika Belcer is a professor of the department for ethics and practical philosophy at LMU in Munich. After her PhD in classical German philosophy (1992) at LMU in Munich, Belcer worked for a year in a think-tank company in the European Commission in Brussels after which she was an assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Gottingen. Between 1994, and 1997, she got a masters in public administration at the Kennedy School of Government at the  Harvard University where she was a visiting lecturer. She was a Feodor-Lynen Fellow at the California University of Berkeley and a professor at the Institute for ethics a public affairs at the Tulane University in New Orleans. Belcer is also a assistant professor at the LMU in Munich (Department for Political Science). She is a member of the Swiss National Committee for Ethics and a current director of the Munich Center for Ethics.
